Sustainable Partners

Actiu

The first industrial company in the world to obtain the WELL® v2 and LEED® Platinum certifications

This way of designing and manufacturing with wellbeing and sustainability in mind or, in other words, people and the environment, has allowed us to become the first industrial company in the world to obtain the WELLTM v2 and LEED® Platinum certifications. They have led our Park to be recognised as the healthiest building in Spain, the second in Europe and fifth in the world, in addition to appearing in the top 20 of the most impressive sustainable buildings in the world, rubbing shoulders with architectural landmarks such as the Bank of America, the Shanghai Tower or Apple Park in California.

ACTIU, take care of the environment by designing office furniture under a sustainable production philosophy, using resources that respect the environment, both recycled and recyclable.

Actiu try to equip workspaces in a sustainable way, with their facilities being leaders in energy efficiency and maximum optimization of production processes. Therefore, Actius Technology Park has been the first medium-sized industrial company in the sector to obtain the LEED® Platinum certificate.

It rains very little in this area, which is why allthe roofs of our buildings are set up to collect rainwater and store it in underground tanks with a cpacity of up to 12,000m3 of water

Where water is a
precious commodity

Our Technology Park has the largest photovoltaic plant on an industrial roof in Europe with state-of-the-art technology and performance, generating 7 million kWh of solar energy, 6 times more than Actiu’s needs.

A technology park
with a lot of energy

Actiu’s commitment to sustainability revolves around optimizing resource efficiency, with a focus on efficient water, energy, and renewable material consumption. Notably, their Technology Park stands out as a self-sustaining oasis, ensuring the conservation of water resources for irrigation and even exceeding their energy demands through solar panel electricity generation. In addition, Actiu’s facilities feature the innovative Gaia by Actiu smart platform, which actively monitors and improves workplace conditions, resulting in an atmosphere that prioritizes well-being and energy efficiency.

The Actius Sustainability Policy includes the development of eco-designed products at all stages of their life cycle: design, materials, production, use, durability, and ease of recycling at the end of their useful life, thereby lowering their environmental imprint.

Actiu is a firm believer in second chances. Actiu breathes new life into the fabrics left over from upholstery processes, which are transformed into toilet bags, tote bags, computer cases, and backpacks all to the work of the Coba Complements creative team.

Sedus

Back in the 1950s, a time when the idea of “environmental protection” was virtually unheard of, Sedus was already deeply committed to the responsible management of resources.

In 2010, Sedus created history by becoming the world’s first office furniture company to receive the renowned EMAS III (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) certification. This voluntary commitment demonstrates Sedus’ continuous willingness to set and achieve environmental goals. This resolve is further emphasized by their open life cycle assessment processes and intentional use of recycled materials in the manufacture of Sedus goods, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability.

SEDUS GREEN CODEX – THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY AT SEDUS

The development, manufacturing, and marketing of Sedus products follow the Sedus Green Codex in a transparent and sustainable way. The individual process areas correspond to parts of a well throughout circular economy.

Sustainable from the start Behind every Sedus product there is an idea, a vision, a solution to a problem. Already at this point, i.e., during development, we think of materials that fit our standards and take environmental aspects into account. Accordingly, the assessment of life cycles and the associated environmental impacts are already taken into consideration in the development process, and work is carried out on the basis of clear specifications. Our design concepts are created in-house and are characterised by three points in particular:

• Environmentally friendly material selection based on the life-cycle analysis
• Use of more and more recycled material
• High demands on durability and timeless design.
